Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Condemns Terrorist Acts in Libya and Somalia

The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) condemned the terrorist car bomb attack which targeted a cemetery in Benghazi, Libya.

In a statement issued today, AIPU affirmed its total rejection of all forms of terrorism, expressing its support for Libya's plans to uproot terrorism and eradicate extremist ideology which fuels hatred, violence, and bloodshed.

AIPU also condemned the terrorist attack which targeted a hotel in Kismayo, Somalia, Killing a number of people and injurying others.

AIPU called on the international community, Arab and international parliaments and parliamentary unions to shoulder their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, provide support to enable Libya to create strong institutions capable of defeating terrorists, and to support Somali security services as well as developing them to be able to protect the Somali people.
