Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking. This is in cooperation with its international partners that the Kingdom's anti-narcotics chief highlighted. This was during a meeting of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, Austria.
CND is the central policy-making body for the UN drug control system, which also meets on an annual basis.
Participating in the 64th session of the CND; held virtually from April 12-16, Director General of General Directorate of Narcotics Control Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Qarni also underlined Saudi Arabia's commitment to the international treaties and agreements related to drug control and the importance of organizing and coordinating the international efforts to confront them.
Al-Qarni, who is heading the Kingdom's delegation at the CND annual session; underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation among law enforcement authorities of all countries to exchange information on drug smuggling cells and networks.
